35th Anniversary Celebrations

Thursday 29th May

French visitors arrive (Time to be confirmed) to be greeted by hosts at Faringdon Corn Exchange. After welcome drinks, visitors to be taken by host families for an evening together.

Friday 30th May

Day Trip to the City of Bath accompanied by a number of UK hosts.

Assemble at Tesco car park at 8.30am for an 8.45 departure and travel to Bath by French coach/ mini buses.

The party will be split into smaller groups and be taken on a walking tour of the City by the UK hosts lasting approx. 1 hour. Re-group and have a picnic lunch in the park. After lunch guest will have approx. 3 hours of free time to do as they please from a suggested list of ideas (shopping, boat trip, the Abbey, Thermal Baths and museums) Maps and prices will be given out on the day. Gather at agreed meeting point at 3.45pm for 4pm departure.

Separate to our itinerary, there is a concert in the Corn Exchange at 7.30pm, which some hosts may wish to take their guests to. This will be performed by The Mandolinen club Falkenstein, and has been arranged by Faringdon's German twinning association. There is a reduced entrance fee to this for French visitors of £5 per person.

Saturday 31st May

35th Celebrations Formal Lunch complete with speeches.

Arrive at midday for a 12.30pm start. After the lunch and speeches, there will be some music performed by a local ukulele group. Finish time 3pm.

Evening Party.

Arrive for 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Plenty of time for eating, drinking and socialising. There will be a local band to end the evening. Finish time 11pm.

Sunday 1st June

Gather in Tesco car park (time to be confirmed) for departure of our French guests.
